The Same Things, Differently

When we're broaching an issue, we're subconsciously talking about something entirely different. Every concept and every situation we're sure we know every aspect of has always more sides, more reasons for its existance.

As long as we keep talking about things the same way and recycle the same stories, nothing changes.

Only if we change the way we talk about things, can the way we think and feel about them change too. That is to say, the situation changes. The gradations of our reality are shaped according to what's being repeated.

We need to talk about the same things in a different way—to dissolve the old, rigid narratives in order to create new ones.

We need to create new, inclusive narrations, in which we can exist as we are, ones that embrace with empathy our behaviors and our lives.

Narrations that bring us closer and highlight all the ways in which we're similar, instead of providing causes for dissent.
